Quynn Elizabeth is the Project Director for Girls Making Media and Digital Instructor for the “studio” sessions.

Quynn has been making audio and video media since 2002.  In 2005 Quynn created the WomanKraft Digital Arts Studio to share these skills with others.  In 2005 she created “Girls Making Media” and is happy the program has grown to include other women as instructors.

Stephanie Smith is the Recruitment and Publicity Director for Girls Making Media.  We are proud to announce that Stephanie is now Digital Instructor for the “beginning” sessions. 

Stephanie’s experience as President of the SUNY Plattsburgh Center for Women from 2006-2008, has shown through in her ability to manage the pilot year of the program.  This year she is taking on more roles in the implementation of Girls Making Media.

Girls Making Media is proud to welcome Desiree Gonzales as a GMM volunteer.  She gathers news and views of girls and women and posts them to our Facebook page.

“Watching Stephanie become a ‘Girl Making Media’ has been a wonderful experience. In her first year with the program, she became acquainted with the process of media making.  When she started, she knew nothing about the subject.  By the end of the pilot year, she has made videos on her own, got an interview with Amy Goodman (and recorded it), and by January 2009 she had the skills for me to feel confident to include her in the AAUW grant.  I’m looking forward to working with her this year to teach more girls how to make media!”
